Job Summary
Maintenance Worker/Assistant performs various duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Responsibilities include applying mechanical and technical concepts to facility plant repair and maintenance projects, and interacting with facility staff and residents to answer questions and resolve grievances. Must apply building and safety codes to facility situations, conduct scheduled maintenance, and maintain the emergency power system and essential equipment to ensure safe operation. Requires the ability to respond to changes and handle additional tasks; availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred; minimum one year of institutional- environment experience; experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair; vocational training preferred. Location: Lansing, Michigan (US).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year physical plant and equipment experience in an institutional environment
- Experience in electrical, plumbing, general carpentry,dry wall repair
- Vocational training in skilled trade or other relevant training preferred
