Job Summary
Support the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the hotel's high standards, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented. Carry out routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement works across the hotel, assist with the preventative maintenance programme, and respond promptly to guest and colleague requests to minimize operational disruption. Conduct regular checks and inspections of equipment, plant areas, bedrooms, and public spaces, reporting concerns, while supporting contractors and maintaining accurate job logs. Ensure tools and work areas comply with health and safety requirements and assist with room refurbishments and general upkeep. Work closely with all departments to support daily operations, with flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
Required Qualifications
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs when required
- Understanding of health and safety requirements and a commitment to working safely at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities, or engineering role
- Good practical knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, decorating, and repair work
- A hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards throughout the hotel
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to changing operational needs
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and develop within the maintenance function
