Job Summary
The Maintenance Assistant performs quality maintenance functions for the facility in accordance with Life Care standards and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements; inspecting equipment and systems for proper function and safety; handling errands and lifting/moving heavy items; delivering excellent customer service to patients; assisting in patient evacuation; maintaining regular attendance; exercising good judgment; communicating effectively within an interdisciplinary team; and upholding confidentiality, policy compliance, and Life Care’s Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of one year maintenance experience preferred
- Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
- Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances preferred
- Valid driver’s license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Essential Functions include assisting with preventive maintenance, inspections, handling freight, patient assistance, and teamwork
