Job Summary
Maintain building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition while performing basic repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, and fire alarms. Carry, lift, and stock supplies; change HVAC filters; and ensure tools and equipment remain in good working order. Work under the direction of the Maintenance Director, assuming supervisor responsibilities during absences, and remain on call for 24 hours when assigned. Provide annual TB skin test verification and interact positively with residents, families, visitors, and staff to ensure high-quality service.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Good organizational skills
- Agile and in good physical health
- Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test
- Must be able to carry, lift and stock supplies
