Job Summary
Assist mechanics in general repair, replacement, or installation of equipment in assigned shop areas covering HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plant operations, and plumbing. Perform preventative maintenance including cleaning, oiling, and adjusting fixtures, machinery, and equipment. Conduct scheduled rounds to inspect lighting fixtures, replace unserviceable lamps, and shovel snow as required. Maintain good records and observe sanitation, safety, and housekeeping regulations while cooperating on work improvement efforts. High school/GED or trade school graduation required for this day shift regular position at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Required Qualifications
- High school/GED or Trade School graduation
- Mechanic assistance in general repair, replacement, or installation of equipment or facilities
- Assistance in performance of repair, replacement, or installation
- Performance of duties in HAVC, carpentry, electrical, plant operations and plumbing
- Assistance in performance of preventative maintenance such as cleaning, oiling, and adjusting fixtures, equipment and or machinery
- Assistance in general overhauling of equipment, fixtures and machinery
- Scheduled rounds of building areas and inspection of lighting fixtures
- Replacement of unserviceable lamps
- Shoveling of snow
- Maintenance of good records
- Observation of sanitation safety and housekeeping regulations
- Cooperation in department work improvement efforts
- Practice of excellent customer service
