Job Summary
Maintain facility grounds, equipment, and living areas in a safe, efficient manner following federal, state, and local standards and established policies. Ensure maintenance schedules are followed for each shift or area while coordinating daily services with nursing staff in resident living spaces. Report all accidents or incidents to your supervisor immediately, regardless of severity. Manage supplies and equipment to minimize waste and maintain a professional appearance in work areas. Handle residents, family members, and visitors tactfully while accepting constructive criticism and following written or oral instructions. Work harmoniously with department personnel and adhere to on-call rotations as directed by supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to accept constructive criticism
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc.
- Ability to maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas
- Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
- Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Ability to seek out new methods and principles
- Willingness to incorporate new methods and principles into existing maintenance practices
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
