Job Summary
Respond to general maintenance requests for COPE facilities and coordinate basic utility and systems repairs. Assist in vehicle upkeep, including transporting vehicles to repair shops, and manage the purchasing of cost-effective repair supplies. Perform indoor and outdoor building cleanup, turnover apartments, and move agency programs, staff, and client items as directed. Requires one year of building and vehicle maintenance experience, a valid Arizona driver's license with a clean record, and the ability to work independently. This safety-sensitive position involves interacting with populations affected by mental illness and substance abuse.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in general building and vehicle maintenance.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate ability to function in the general maintenance field.
- Knowledge and experience in purchasing supplies with limited budget.
- General knowledge of basic utility (coolers, A/C, heaters) and systems (electrical, plumbing)
- Some knowledge of the problems associated with mental illness and substance abuse and the ability to interact with these populations.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be 21 years of age (insurance requirement)
- Possess a valid AZ driver's license with a 'clean' or 'acceptable' driving record
- No more than two [2] moving violations in the last three [3] years
- No more than one [1] at-fault accident within the last three [3] years
- No major violation (i.e. DUI, Careless/Reckless Driving, Drag Racing, Hit and Run) within the last three [3] years
- Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
