Job Summary
Perform general preventative maintenance and repair duties throughout the building and grounds, including carpentry, furniture repair, door installation, painting, and ground maintenance tasks like pruning and installing woodchips. Estimate material costs, prepare purchase order requests, and inspect Agency vehicles weekly to prevent costly repairs. Maintain material safety data sheets in all vehicles and utilize certified renovator practices while attending required training. Work in a moderate-paced environment involving troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of low to moderate-income homes and Agency buildings, requiring upper body strength to lift 85 pounds and climb ladders or scaffolding.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of vocational training course in building trades
- 3 years of full-time paid employment in the building trades
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- Commercial chauffeurs license
- Safe driving record
- Ability to direct and work with people
- No non-qualifying physical requirements
- Must be insurable
