Job Summary
Maintenance Assistant Bus Driver/Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Services Director with comprehensive upkeep across heating, cooling, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, grounds, carpentry, painting, sprinklers, fire alarms, plumbing and building exteriors. Responsible for identifying needed repairs, completing work orders, performing minor repairs, preparing apartments for residency, assisting with preventive maintenance to prevent future costs, promoting energy conservation, and assisting with special projects. Tasks include coordinating repairs in apartments and common areas, cleaning and maintaining equipment (fire sprinkler heads), assisting with housekeeping as needed, handling freight, moving heavy items, keeping grounds clear, and supporting landscaping and lawn maintenance. Requires a valid driver’s license, independent decision-making, knowledge of general maintenance practices and applicable laws/regulations in an assisted living setting, and adherence to company policies and ethics. The role involves on-site work at Century Park Associates in Elyria, OH, contributing to resident safety, cleanliness, and overall community standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of one year maintenance experience
- Proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
- Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances preferred
