MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Job Summary
Maintenance Assistant reports to the Maintenance Director and supports operations across multiple skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with training for Housekeeping and Maintenance, maintaining regulatory compliance documentation, performing audits/inspections, preparing reports for leadership, coordinating communication between facilities and support centers, supporting recruitment/onboarding, and helping troubleshoot mechanical/electrical failures in the community's systems. Requires ability to perform general maintenance tasks in a healthcare setting (carpentry, plumbing, painting, cleaning, repairs), read and communicate in English, and travel between facility locations. Emphasizes confidentiality, integrity, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a 24/7 skilled care environment with exposure to clinical and regulatory demands.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in skilled nursing and/or assisted living
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different facility locations everyday
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read, speak and understand English; follow directions
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks in healthcare setting (carpentry, plumbing, painting, general repair)
- Ability to work independently
