Maintenance and Controls Group Leader

Job Summary
The Maintenance and Controls Group Leader will direct maintenance and automation teams to ensure reliability and continuous improvement of plant equipment and automated systems. Responsibilities include leading hourly-maintenance staff, managing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing and resolving failures in automated production lines and control systems, developing and optimizing automation (PLC, HMI, robotics, sensors, actuators), integrating industrial robots (Fanuc) and automation systems, and driving performance metrics under GMS standards. The role requires coordinating with operations and engineering to maintain production continuity, managing industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet), leading automation projects from design to startup, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and applying Lean Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement. On-site with a 4x3 schedule (12-hour shifts, including weekends), the role also emphasizes providing technical guidance and training to maintenance and operations teams, documenting changes with proper traceability, and collaborating across functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Control Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing environments
- Experience in maintenance and controls within industrial or manufacturing settings
- Intermediate English level (conversational and technical reading comprehension)
- PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Industrial robotics integration and programming (Fanuc preferred)
- Industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet)
- SCADA and HMI systems
- Core problem-solving methodologies (RCA, 8D, FMEA)
- Knowledge of GMS and quality/manufacturing systems
- Leadership and team management
- On-site work experience
- 4x3 shift experience or ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends
