Job Summary

Install, repair, and maintain large industrial textile processing equipment, water systems, and boilers while performing start-up, shut-down, and emergency repairs. Troubleshoot electrical issues, replace parts, and adjust machinery based on blueprints and manufacturer manuals. Respond to daily maintenance requests promptly to minimize downtime and drive and transport parts as needed. Maintain accurate records of all work performed and continuously improve maintenance processes through technical training and industry best practices. Adhere strictly to safety rules and work cooperatively with all plant personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding or other safety violations
  • Minimum of two years maintenance engineering experience
  • Specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications
  • Proficiency in the proper use of power and hand tools
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase 230 volt systems
  • PLC programming experience
  • Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to comprehend and follow direction

  • Ability to drive and pick up parts, transport equipment, parts, etc.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, kneel, work in confined areas, reach overhead, drive a forklift, grasp, move equipment, push, pull, move loaded carts weighing up to 500 lbs, lift and carry up to 100 lbs, read, write, speak, and hear
  • Ability to work inside and outside areas of a typical industrial laundry facility
  • Ability to work with and around large machinery
  • Ability to tolerate variations in temperature, noise, odors, humidity, lint and dust
  • Ability to work in general offices or on outside grounds
  • Ability to occasionally travel to procure parts
  • Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to perform work without causing significant safety threat to self or others
  • Ability to strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by Alsco, law, and what is recognized as common practice in the industry
  • Ability to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
  • Ability to maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications
  • Ability to remain current on equipment and repair procedures and best practices
  • Ability to study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct operation of machinery
  • Ability to proficiently read electrical schematics
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely records of maintenance performed
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision
  • Ability to comply with all Federal, State and local laws
  • High school graduate or equivalency
  • Relevant certifications, a boiler license or PLC programming (at some locations)
