Job Summary
As a Mainframe Quality Engineer 3 at Broadcom, you will play a vital role in test planning and execution for a product called Gen. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in quality assurance for mainframe software, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and expertise in creating automation with Python and zOS systems. Key responsibilities include maintaining test environments, designing test cases and scripts, executing various test levels, tracking defects, and reporting on test results.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance for mainframe software
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Experience creating test automation (preferably Python)
- Experience with zOS systems components and sub-systems such as: TSO/ISPF, CICS, IMS, WebSphere Liberty, JCL, and DB2
- Experience working with middleware, such as ECI, TCP/IP or IBM MQ
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using Gen (formerly known as COOL: Gen or CA Gen)
- Experience with Clist, COBOL, REXX, SQL, GitHub, intelliJ, VS Code
- Certified by ISTQB (Foundational)
- Experience with z/OSMF, SMP/E, USS (z/OS Unix System Services)
- Ability to configure CICS and IMS, define resources and set up the environment
