Job Summary
Operate mailing machines and adjust, maintain, and process outgoing mail using ink jet addressing systems, mail inserters, tabbers, and folders. Enter and print U.S. Postal Service paperwork while performing mail handwork. Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly huddles for Lean Process Improvement activities, including idea generation and workflow enhancement. Requires high school graduation or GED with one year of mail processing experience and ability to lift 70 pounds. First shift, regular full-time position with a pay range of $45,144 to $54,468. Supports the University of Washington's centralized design, web, printing, and mailing services across Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma campuses.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or GED certificate
- One year of experience processing United States and/or campus mail
- Six months of additional experience or training as a Mail Rater, or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or willingness to learn computer data entry
- Knowledge of United States Post Office Regulations in the International Mail Manual and Domestic Mail Manual
