Job Summary
Mail Clerk - Messenger delivers, picks up and sorts mail for 80 Maiden Lane, coordinates daily Mailroom activities and messenger pick-up/delivery, serves as liaison with courier services, coordinates transportation of records between Maiden Lane and Bronx Records Retention Center, oversees non-computer equipment maintenance (copiers, fax, shredders), handles in-house household maintenance tasks (bulb replacement, carpet cleaning, furniture movement), manages stockroom inventory and office supplies, opens/distributes mail, sets up conference rooms for meetings, ensures proper postage on outgoing mail, and performs various administrative support duties with an emphasis on confidentiality and multitasking in a Manhattan-based facility.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of prior mailroom experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Good interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Good organizational skills
- Able to travel around Manhattan on the subways
