Job Summary

Operate an MRI scanner to obtain diagnostic images by preparing and positioning patients, selecting technical parameters, and administering contrast media within scope of practice. Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, education, and data entry while ensuring high-quality image submission to PACS with correct lead markers. Maintain equipment functionality, report malfunctions, and keep the department clean and orderly. Work a weekend shift with 24 scheduled weekly hours in a constant state of alertness. Requires completion of an MRI or Radiology Technology program, one year of direct experience, and BLS or ARRT-MR certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a MRI or Radiology Technology program
  • One year direct experience
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more)
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients
  • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
  • Rare kneeling and sitting
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Weekend Shift (United States of America)
