Job Summary
MaggieTM Court Reporter captures the official written record of legal proceedings, working with attorneys at remote or in-person depositions and hearings using proprietary AI court reporting software for real-time transcription. This salaried, benefits-eligible role offers career growth through an in-house training program and a tier-based advancement path. Responsibilities include administering the oath to witnesses, monitoring and editing verbatim transcripts, protecting the official record from crosstalk, gathering case details, managing transcript delivery timelines, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure quality standards. Requires an associate’s degree, Notary Public certification, and strong written and verbal communication skills; hybrid work is supported. Up to 25% travel may be required, primarily around Alexandria and Arlington, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s is preferred
- Notary Public certificate required; assistance in obtaining provided
- Court Reporting Certification encouraged; assistance in obtaining provided
- Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines
- Flexible to a hybrid work schedule with a mix of remote and in-person work
