Job Summary
Own the macro vertical covering CPI prints, Fed decisions, GDP forecasts, and geopolitical risk events. Expand coverage by prioritizing macroeconomic releases and designing systematic pipelines for new markets. Drive liquidity by collaborating with market makers to structure incentives and quoting standards. Build reliable resolution systems using official government data and automated feeds while integrating sources from economics providers and financial APIs. Shape partnerships with data firms and research institutions. Monitor volume, spreads, and latency across markets to optimize performance. Work directly with the Head of Markets, engineers, compliance, and economists to launch features meeting regulatory and technical expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in macro trading, economic forecasting, derivatives markets, or event-driven research
- Deep understanding of liquidity mechanics, market microstructure, and forecasting models used in macro contexts
- Strong technical fluency — able to spec APIs, debug data feeds, interpret economic releases, and collaborate with engineering teams
- Product sensibility — you think in systems, incentives, user flows, and feedback loops
- Comfort navigating regulated and unregulated environments simultaneously
- High-agency mindset and appetite for ownership; thrives in fast-moving, informationally dense environments
Desired Qualifications
- (Plus) Experience at a regulated exchange, derivatives venue, or DCM/DCO
- (Plus) Background in quantitative research or market-making
- (Plus) Existing relationships with macro data vendors, economists, or research desks
- (Plus) Deep obsession with macroeconomics, markets, and the interplay between data and price
