Job Summary
Machinist III responsible for maintaining Anderson Dahlen Quality standards on CNC vertical, horizontal mills and bridge mills. Sets up and performs a wide range of machining operations using various machine tools, jigs, and fixtures to produce a wide variety of parts and tooling items. Writes simple CNC programs and applies geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to weldments. Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting blueprints, following standard work instructions, using precision inspection tools, and contributing to Lean continuous-improvement efforts. Maintains tooling, performs autonomous maintenance, and ensures parts meet daily machining standards and quality requirements. Includes responsibilities across 4/10 or 3/12 shift patterns with appropriate shift differentials and benefits options.
Required Qualifications
- Applied Science Degree in Machine Tool Technology (Preferred)
- High school education or equivalent including additional technical training in an approved machinist program
- Minimum of 1-2 years of machining experience
- Demonstrated shop math skills, knows feeds and speeds, and can develop or improvise tooling
- Ability to use a variety of machine tools, related jigs, fixtures, and attachments
- Good judgement to determine proper sequence and set-up of complicated work
- Dexterity to operate controls on lathes and other machine tools
- Ability to demonstrate close tolerances repeatedly
- Ability to adjust to assure accuracy to job specifications
