Job Summary
Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to machine metallic and non-metallic parts by reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop orders. Select cutters and fixtures, inspect work to ensure specifications are met, and calculate controls for speed, feed, and coolant flow. Recommend improvements to production methods and equipment performance while reporting any safety, tooling, or quality issues immediately. Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all company standards. This role supports manufacturing operations with a starting hourly pay of $30.00 - $35.00.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification
- 1 year minimum of related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and decipher CAD prints
- Ability to operate machines including, but not limited to bar code reader, computer terminal, other electronic devices, and forklift
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and the capacity to learn new systems
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships
- Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong team work
- Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position
- Basic ability to understand blue prints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams
- Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios
- Must regularly lift up to 60 pounds
