Job Summary
Machinist Trainee position performing setup/teardown of machine tools, CNC programming collaboration with CAM, and production of machined parts to print. Responsibilities include loading/unloading jaws and tooling, developing CNC programs with CAM, designing/fabricating fixturing for complex parts, communicating print and production issues to supervision and programming teams to improve throughput, operating machine tools to produce parts per engineering instructions, handling part loading/unloading, maintaining cleanliness, and using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges). Emphasis on maintaining quality through the Quality System, with willingness to perform additional duties to support operations and business continuity. Essential skills include reading blueprints, editing programs, strong communication and problem-solving, manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, reading measuring tapes, and adherence to safety policies and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent certificate
- Post-secondary CNC education preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment not required, but highly desirable
