Job Summary
Machinist position requiring Haas, Bridgeport, and Okuma CNC machining experience, with OD/ID grinding, manual lathe/mill, and potential chrome/nickel grinding under supervision. The role involves learning shot peen processing, equipment maintenance, safety guidelines, precise measurement with micrometers and dial indicators, reading OEM repair manuals and blueprints, and understanding FAA inspection/repair requirements. Candidates should be open to lean/six sigma initiatives and may work overtime. FAA knowledge and aviation experience are considered pluses.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of machining experience and/or equivalent
- Experience with CNC and manual equipment preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices (micrometers, dial indicators)
- Must be able to machine parts with tolerances as low as .0002
- Must be willing to learn lean/six sigma for continuous improvement
- Must be familiar with or able to learn FAA requirements related to inspection and repair
- FANUC control preferred
- Knowledge of HAAS, Bridgeport, and Okuma CNC machines
- Basic computer skills; experience with Quantum for work orders
- Aviation experience a plus
