Job Summary
Conduct precision machining operations using lathes, milling machines, and CNC tools to fulfill increasing customer orders for J&A Industries. Set up, adjust, and maintain specialized machine tools while calculating dimensions with micrometers and calipers. Read blueprints and work orders to determine material requirements, align fixtures, and resolve production problems with supervisors. Attend daily safety briefings, maintain safe working conditions, and properly dispose of scrap materials. Operate from 6AM to 4:30PM Monday through Thursday in a family-owned machine shop recognized by major railroads.
Required Qualifications
- OSHA10 Safety Certification
- Other Safety Certifications required for specific tasks and operations
- Attention to detail and initiative to be self-motivated and directed
- Ability to listen, follow directions and communicate effectively
- Ability to operate difference machines such as CNC and manual lathes and milling machines as well as punch presses and shears
- 5 years' experience as a machinist
- Must have extensive working knowledge of current fabrication procedures
- Monday-Thursday; 6AM-4:30PM
