Job Summary
Operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies, including milling (drilling, tapping, boring, conventional milling) and lathe work with engine lathes. Perform metalizing (metal spraying) as needed, set up tool-post grinding and Babbitt bearing work, and use hand-held and stationary tools. Accurately record data, measure with devices, understand materials/applications, assist other machinists, maintain clean/organized work area, and adhere to safety policies; role requires lifting and securing heavy objects and supporting team with duties as directed. Qualifications emphasize five years of manual machining experience and helpful background with electric motors and welding; technical-school certification is a plus. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Manual Machinist in a machine shop & job shop environment desired (CNC experience is not applicable)
- Prior electric motor experience in a machine shop is helpful and prior work experience, and/or certification, doing mig and tig welding a plus
- Certification from a Technical school is helpful
