Job Summary
Operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic products. Read blueprints (metric/imperial), customize fixtures/setups, and maintain full command of machine programming and manual controls. Perform advanced tooling and rigging, troubleshoot downtime, and conduct preliminary part inspections to verify conformance to specifications. Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly problems; participate in training and evaluations of others. Maintain 5S standards, safety practices, and PPE usage in a warehouse/fabrication shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 3+ years machinist experience required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group settings
- Ability to foster a positive team environment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Flexibility in working hours as required by workload and communication demands
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
