Machinist IV

Machinist IV position responsible for operation of machining centers, editing CNC programs as needed to increase productivity, identifying and correcting programming errors during setup, training less experienced machinists, determining fixturing and tooling needs, and ensuring parts meet customer specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities include machining simple to complex parts from aluminum, steel, stainless, bronze, and other materials; verifying material per job routers and technical data; maintaining safety and PPE usage; operating drill presses, milling machines, and lathes; moving materials as needed; accurate measurement and positioning; applying MIL-SPEC standards; post-manufacturing inspection; and providing support to fellow operators. Requires ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, and procedures; strong mathematics; multi-tasking; and ability to work independently. Education/experience includes High School Diploma or trade certificate with 10+ years CNC machining experience or 2 years Mastercam programming with 8 years CNC milling experience; ability to set up CNC centers for 3-5 axis operations; capability to hold tight tolerances; and ability to obtain security clearance.
