Job Summary
Operate CNC mills, manual mills, and lathes to machine parts based on blueprints, sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions. Design and write CNC programs to fabricate production equipment, prepare blanks for dies, wedges, and distributor plates, and repair tooling as needed. Maintain adequate supply of consumables, service all machine tools, and inspect re-coated wedges for quality. Keep logs of tooling activities and maintain shop cleanliness while adhering to GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols. Requires high school diploma plus four years of machine shop experience, proficiency in CAD, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. First shift schedule with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- at least 4 years of machine shop experience
- CAD, or equivalent
- Apprenticeship Program
- certification from technical school
- 2 years of experience as described below
- Machines dies using the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) 4-axis mills
- properly setting up the part or material in the fixtures
- running the correct program
- Designs and writes CNC programs to fabricate production equipment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with assembly tools, test equipment, and calibration processes
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and quality control procedures
- Ability to operate precision measurement tools and testing equipment
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and manufacturing software systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and manual dexterity
- Ability to adapt schedule as needed to support production demands
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
