Job Summary

Build and machine parts from blueprints using manual and CNC machines under direct supervision. Set up and take down projects while operating overhead cranes safely. Maintain a clean work area and ensure a safe environment. Read blueprints and use measurement instruments to hold tight tolerances on geometric features. Run 50% of all machines and perform set-ups with minimal assistance. Work overtime when necessary to meet customer, quality, and schedule requirements. Day shift Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with possible overtime.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical schooling in advanced machine shop
  • Three years hands-on experience or six years working as machinist
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions and Trigonometry)
  • Must be able to hold +-.030
  • Must be able to hold +- 30 min. Angularity tolerance
  • Must be able to hold .010 perpendicularly (machine permitting.)
  • Must have a working knowledge of a general layout
  • Must be able to run 25% of all the machines
  • Must have basic knowledge of set-ups and be able to assist in most set-ups
  • Must be able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary
  • Must be able to use and read basic measurement instruments
  • Must be able to lift to 49 pounds
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Must be able to read and understand most blueprints
  • Must have basic knowledge of geometric tolerancing
  • Must be able to hold +-.010
  • Must be able to hold +- 15 min. Angularity tolerance
  • Must be able to do a general layout within .015
  • Must be able to run 50% of all the machines
  • Must be able to do own set-ups with little help
  • Must be able to safely operate overhead crane
  • Must be able to set up and take down of projects
  • Must be able to machine parts under reasonable supervision
  • Must be able to take ownership of the product to meet customer, quality, and schedule requirements
  • Must have a working knowledge of speeds and feeds to extend tool life
  • Must be able to use and read most basic measurement instruments
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary
  • Must be able to lift to 49 pounds
  • Day Shift Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • (possible overtime when needed)
