Job Summary
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers to produce complex parts from customer drawings with tight tolerances up to 24-inch cubes. Develop new machining methods and tooling for first-of-their-kind parts, selecting appropriate cutting tools and workholding while interpreting GD&T to inspect finished parts using precision instruments. Bring ideas for continuous improvement and collaborate with engineering on design, testing, and new product development. Measure and document inspection data to assure part compliance using manual CMM and mechanical methods.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent knowledge and ability of a 20-year machinist
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus advanced technical training
- Sharp attention to detail and a genuine problem-solving mindset
- Comfort with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Solid math fundamentals (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions)
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of customer specs
- A team-first attitude
- A strong commitment to safety and a clean, organized workspace
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Manual dexterity for extended periods
- Ability to stand for extended periods
