Job Summary
Layout and plan work from mechanical drawings, rough sketches, or specifications. Operate equipment to produce component parts with specified dimensions and finishes from a wide variety of materials. Gage and inspect work to align with engineering specifications. Assemble machine and subassemblies according to prints, process sheets, and documentation. Test and debug machines and subassemblies to meet established specifications. Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes. Adhere to Universal Quality System policies and procedures to continuously improve work processes. This role is a 2nd shift position Monday through Friday, running from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Formal training in an accredited machine shop or certificate program
- Ability to use and manual Lathes and milling machines
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to use power tools
- Ability to use grinders
- Ability to use drill presses
- Ability to program CNC machines mills and lathes
- CNC machines experience
- Computer literacy
- CAM programing
- Basic knowledge of CAD
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Strong technical math background
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to get along with co-workers
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to occasionally work flexible hours when necessary
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
- Ability to adhere to applicable safety practices
- Ability to work at tool-room work stations
- Ability to bend
- Ability to reach
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to sit at work station for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand at work station for extended periods of time

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to use and manual Lathes and milling machines, hand tools, grinders, and drill presses
- Ability to program CNC machines mills and lathes would be preferred
- CNC machines experience is preferred
