Machinist II (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
Operate computer or mechanically controlled machines to produce and repair metal parts by analyzing engineering specifications and blueprints. Select appropriate tools such as lathes, drill presses, and milling machines to determine optimal tool paths and fabricate components. Manually set up and adjust equipment, then utilize precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy and quality. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units while adhering to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. Requires 1-2 years of vocational/technical experience, associate's degree preferred, and 4/10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday with a 10% shift premium. This Safety-Sensitive role supports warfighters and customers globally at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
