Job Summary
Operate CNC machines, mills, drills, grinders, and lathes to perform standard and moderately complex machining operations for gas turbine components. Interpret blueprints and work instructions to produce parts within required tolerances while inspecting finished goods using micrometers, calipers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures to support safe, accurate, and efficient production, and identify routine setup issues to maintain quality and flow. Operate material-moving equipment such as forklifts and cranes as trained. Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement efforts while taking ownership of compliance, safety, and productivity in your area. Perform these duties during the 3rd shift.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of machining experience with equipment such as mills, drills, grinders, lathes, or similar in a manufacturing or machine shop environment, or equivalent advanced machining training plus relevant hands-on experience
- Experience following work instructions and specifications to perform complex machining operations and maintain required tolerances
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and inspection equipment to verify conformance of finished parts
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear required personal protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Successful completion of an assessment for the job class, background check, and drug screen
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Must be able to troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues with a high level of independence
- Must have experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety and quality
- Must bring strong attention to detail, dependability, and a team-first mindset
