Job Summary
The Machinist I position involves measuring and preparing final dimensions of crankshafts, identifying necessary adjustments, and utilizing various abrasive materials to achieve final product dimensions and finishes. Responsibilities include loading and unloading machines, lubricating equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and adhering to safety regulations. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a high school diploma or GED. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and measurement tools is preferable.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagrammatic forms
- Familiar with general computer applications
- Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read blueprints and written direction
- Ability to use various measuring instruments, including micrometers and snap gauges
- Ability to work a variety of work schedules and overtime as required
