Machinist I (Night Shift)

Job Summary
Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on work pieces, then study drawings to determine tolerances for finished units. Fit and assemble machined parts into complete assemblies using jigs, fixtures, and power tools. Operate basic shop equipment including band saws and grinders, while loading and editing CNC programs as needed. Set up machine tools per instructions, verify work against part prints, and adjust controls to detect malfunctions. Confers with engineers and production staff to resolve machining problems and installs replacement parts into mechanisms. Maintain a safe, clean work area and record daily work performed. Works under moderate supervision on the night shift.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school)
- CNC Machinist with job shop experience
- Manual machining background
- Lathe background
- Mill background
- Knowledge of how to use equipment and materials properly
- Knowledge to meet productivity standards
- Advanced skill of machine setup and operation
- Ability to troubleshoot, report situations or resolve the problem independently
- Reliable and predictable attendance and punctuality
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Fadal VMC machines
- Experience with Thermwood CNC Router machines
