Job Summary
Operate computer or mechanically controlled machines to produce and repair metal parts by analyzing engineering specifications and selecting appropriate tool paths for lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and grinders. Manually set up and adjust equipment, then select and operate tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite materials. Utilize precision measuring instruments to check accuracy and quality, while supporting blueprint interpretation to determine precise specifications and tolerances. Assemble parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary and recommend design revisions based on machinability or fabrication problems. Requires regular movement throughout facilities, lifting up to 45 pounds, and willingness to work inside, outside, or on different shifts as required.
Required Qualifications
- Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset
- No prior experience needed
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- May need to stand for long periods of time
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
- May be requested to work a different shift
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
- This position is Safety-Sensitive
