Job Summary
Machinist I position performing a variety of material handling and shop-floor tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include receiving and verifying materials, inventory management using ERP/MRP systems, material staging for production, operating cutting equipment (saws) for prep, managing WIP movement, shipping finished parts, and maintaining traceability for regulated industries. The role requires operating forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other equipment, ensuring safety (OSHA-compliant) and accurate documentation of material movement, heat numbers, and certifications. The candidate must support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, perform basic to intermediate mathematical computations, read safety rules and blueprints, and communicate issues to management. A High School Diploma or related trade certificate and/or machining experience, with ability to pass drug/background screening and obtain government security clearance, is required. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with attention to quality and accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, a trade school certificate or Equivalent in a related field and/or one year of machining experience
- Machinist I must be able to set up a CNC center to perform machining on less complex parts utilizing 3 axis mills or lathes
- Ability to pass a drug and background screening
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
