Job Summary
Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to perform precision machining operations, set up fixtures and tooling, and interpret blueprints to ensure parts meet strict tolerances. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to optimize processes and maintain high-quality output. Select appropriate feeds and speeds, maintain equipment cleanliness, and adhere to all safety procedures while designing or modifying fixtures as needed. This fully onsite 2nd shift role requires an Associate degree or five years of experience in precision machining.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Machine Technology or related field
- At least 5 years relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Strong mathematical skills (geometry, tolerances, measurements)
- Ability to maintain high precision and tight tolerances
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Experience with CNC programming (lathe and milling)
- Experience designing or modifying fixtures and tooling
- Experience working in a manufacturing or precision machining environment
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
