Job Summary
Operate CNC machine tools, including grinding and milling machines, to cut and produce precision manufactured parts based on blueprints and technical drawings. Repair and produce parts using manual and automated equipment while maintaining high-quality close tolerance manufacturing and replacing cutting tools as required. Safely operate overhead cranes, perform routine equipment maintenance, and complete inspection documentation reports. Align and secure fixtures, adjust machine feeds and speeds, and replace tools to meet product conformity standards. Work effectively with minimal supervision under the direction of the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader, adhering to all safety regulations and environmental policies. Maintain good housekeeping practices and possess proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers. Requires 3-5 years of machining or CNC experience, including previous aerospace experience.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Machining or CNC operations experience
- Machining certificates as equipment requires
- Previous Aerospace experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to solve problems using appropriate critical thinking skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read, write, speak, and effectively communicate in English
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and focus adjustment
- Initial and annual hearing and vision exams must be successfully passed
- Occasionally Sit, lift, and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Push or pull using material handling equipment up to 500 pounds
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms
- Use hands to type, handle, or feel
