Job Summary
Machinist role set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment to drill, turn, mill, grind, thread, and bore parts and assemblies to precise tolerances. Reads blueprints and I&T plans, uses precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, and communicates with supervisors and teammates. Supports machining of GE 7F components, participates in safety training, and may cross-train across different machines and departments as needed. Requires first shift availability (7:00 AM–3:30 PM), high school diploma or 2 years of machinist training, 3–5 years of machining experience, blueprint reading and G/M code proficiency, and ability to work overtime as required. GE Vernova environment emphasizes safety, quality, and inclusive culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of formal machinist training
- 3–5 years of experience operating machining equipment (boring bars, vertical/horizontal boring mills, etc.)
- Minimum 2 years of blueprint reading experience
- Minimum 3 years using precision measuring instruments
- Ability to run and input G & M code
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements and follow PPE/safety rules
