Job Summary
Fabricate precision-machined parts by setting up and operating manual or CNC mills and lathes per work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Evaluate blueprints to develop machining strategies, identify tooling, and create work holders or fixtures. Verify parts using precision measuring equipment, change tooling offsets based on cutting conditions, and adjust feeds, speeds, and parameters for materials like aluminum, steel, titanium, and stainless steel. Re-machine parts per engineering changes and troubleshoot production issues on the shop floor while deburring components as necessary. Work 1st or 2nd shift in Moorpark, CA, with a salary range of $60,000 - $90,000. Requires five years of experience setting up and running manual mills and lathes, plus ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years minimum experience setting up and running manual mills and lathes
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Minimum High school education or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal fashion
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical instructions with engineering department
- Work with little or no supervision
- Must be able to meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements
Desired Qualifications
- CNC experience a plus
- Experience machining titanium, stainless, aluminum, plastics and other std aerospace materials
- ESPRIT, Master Cam programming software experience a plus
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading and inspection tools
- Previous lead experience a plus
