Job Summary
Operate CNC and manual mills and lathes to fabricate high-speed wind tunnel parts and models to precise tolerances. Read technical drawings to set up jobs, understand dimensioning and tolerancing requirements, and perform inspections using general machine shop equipment. Requires 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3-axis CNC milling and CAD/CAM skills, with a US Department of Defense security clearance. Flexible or extended hours may be required on an as needed basis. This role supports the CUBRC Aerosciences group's wind tunnel testing program.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant education and job experience
- Experience machining various materials on CNC equipment
- 3-axis CNC milling experience
- CAD/CAM experience
- Good understanding of general machine shop equipment and inspection tools
- Ability to read technical drawings to set up and prep jobs, and understand dimensioning and tolerancing requirements
- Applicant must possess the basic hand tools to perform their job within the scope of duties
- Must be able to obtain and remain eligible for a US Department of Defense security clearance
