Job Summary
Machinist on the day shift fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, designs and fabricates fixtures, operates lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders, measures and tests units to ensure specifications, completes documentation, adheres to ISO procedures, and works with engineering and production staff in a New Prague, MN environment. CNC programming experience and familiarity with ISO procedures are preferred; role may involve occasional other areas as needed; safety gear required.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a machinist
- Experience using manual CNC mills and lathes
- 3+ years of CNC Pipe bending experience specifically on schedule 5 and 10 pipe is desired
- Previous press brake or related CNC experience is preferred
- Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division)
- Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches
- Familiarity of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures
- Attention to detail essential
- Proven self - starter and ability to work independently
- Able to work with both engineering and production staff
- Experience in cost estimating and material needs
- Proven ability to identify, reason and problem solve moderate to complex issues
- High School Diploma or GED required
