Job Summary
Set up, operate, and maintain lathe and milling machines by reading blueprints, selecting tooling, and programming CNC G-Code to control speed and material feed. Adjust machines to ensure proper setup, quality product output, and adherence to minimal tolerances of .0005". Inspect finished parts using gauging instruments to maintain specified requirements and report metrology issues. Assist in training personnel on machine, job, fixture, and part-specific problems while working flexible shifts in Beaverton, MI. Meet performance goals for scrap reduction, rework, labor efficiency, and downtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience as a machinist
- Ability to multi-task without losing efficiency or accuracy
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimum instruction
- Ability to work with minimum tolerances of .0005"
- Basic tool requirement
- Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
- Walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organization's facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Four years experience as a machinist preferred
- Proficient in reading CNC G-Code language preferred
- Basic math skills to include trigonometry, etc.
- Experience in reading blueprints and GD&T
- Basic computer skills preferred
