Job Summary
Sets up and operates CNC and manual machine tools within the work cell to produce finished parts within specified tolerances. Responsibilities include loading materials, changing program settings, tooling inserts, and adjusting cutting angles/speeds; visually inspecting parts; following inspection protocols and sampling to ensure quality; moving parts between workstations; entering production data and using business software and Horton intranet for quality information. Provides cross-training between machines, assists with more complex setups under supervision, and may train employees and temporary workers. Maintains machine maintenance routines, keeps work area safe and organized, and adheres to safety and production standards. Requires basic to intermediate blueprint reading, measurement, and mathematical skills, and the ability to operate CNC/manual machines and load/control programs; HS diploma or equivalent desired, with 6 months of relevant experience or a related technical degree.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED desired but not required
- Requires 6 months of developed relevant work experience at Horton or elsewhere
- A relevant 1- or 2-year technical degree/diploma in a machining related field fulfills the 6-month work experience requirement
