Job Summary

Set up and operate a variety of machinery including screw machines, lathes, machine centers, tube benders, press brakes, and laser equipment to produce quality parts according to drawing specifications. Mount, position, and adjust cutting tools and adapters to ensure consistent output, while setting proper feeds and speeds. Troubleshoot programs and machine settings, perform preventative maintenance checks for lubrication and coolant, and document quality checks and production data. Move stock and materials, assist with scheduling and rework, and participate in team problem-solving sessions. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area while following all safety regulations and job procedures.

Required Qualifications

Must pass Machine Set-Up Test
High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree (applies to anyone hired after 1997)
Must be able to set-up and operate a variety of machinery including, but not limited to, single and multi-spindle screw machines, lathes, machine centers, tube benders, press brakes, laser, tube cutter, mechanical presses, turret press, shear and saws
Must be able to mount, position and adjust various cutting tools, adapters, collets, pushers, cams, threading devices and other tooling as needed to make a quality part as determined by drawing specifications and set-up guidelines
Must also be able to set the proper feeds and speeds to ensure that a quality part is produced consistently
Must be able to troubleshoot programs, and make any necessary adjustments to machine settings to produce parts
Must use the correct job procedures/instructions, drawings, specifications, sequence of operations, SPC, perform and document quality checks
Must follow all processes and procedures as written
Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
