Job Summary
Operate multiple cut-off grinding machines to fabricate metal parts within the Impax Division, inspecting and setting up equipment manually or with hand tools. Perform tooling mathematics using trigonometry and algebra to determine methods, sequences, and product dimensions from blueprints and engineering drawings. Maintain industrial machines, evaluate procedures for efficiency improvements, and confer with design and supervisory teams to exchange technical information. Measure and test completed units with precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications while monitoring machines for the next piece.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate with a 2-year machine tool technology or tool and die degree
- 2nd year Machine Tool Technology students
- Tool and Die student(s)
- Strong mechanical and technical abilities/experience
- Ability to edit programs and set up multiple styles of machines
- Understanding of G&M Codes
- Willingness to freely move amongst all cell machines as workload demands
- Ability to read technical data such as blueprints and routings
- Machine tooling mathematics including trigonometry and algebra
- Continuous standing and walking 8 – 10 hours per shift
- Ability to continuously lift, carry, push or pull up to 10lbs
- Ability to rarely lift, carry, push, pull, move up to 20lbs
- Ability to frequently perform cervical bends when checking progress or programming
- Continuous repetitive use of forearms/wrists/hands to grasping, bending, twisting
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms unilaterally and bilaterally
- Continuous requirement of specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
