Job Summary
Machinist 1 position responsible for operating and setting up machines, troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining cell productivity under supervision. The role includes validating parts with precision instruments (micrometers, height gages, calipers, indicators), making tool offsets, calibrating probes and tool setters, addressing machine alarms, inspecting parts, assisting in training operators, and contributing to safety, 6S, quality, delivery, and productivity initiatives. Candidates should be proficient with machine operations across the assigned cell, able to interpret programming languages, and possess knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and related machining concepts. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–4 years of manufacturing experience or related experience
- Two-year technical degree or approved apprenticeship in CNC mill or lathe (plus)
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge of machine tool programming languages (G & M codes)
- Blueprint reading
- Ability to interpret programming languages, distance to go, feed rate, spindle speed overrides
- Knowledge of metalworking tools and workholding
- Teamwork and proactive collaboration
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with PPE and safety standards
