Job Summary
Machining/Welding Supervisor leads shop-floor activities for CNC machinists and welders to ensure safe, cost-effective, on-time production while upholding quality standards. Responsibilities include safety leadership and housekeeping improvements, incident reporting and investigations, overtime scheduling for hourly staff, reviewing new jobs with engineering, allocating resources, enforcing safety and work rules, training/coaching team members to improve site performance, ensuring proper care of machines/tools, and maintaining KPI data. Candidate must read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings, oversee machining/welding/disassembly/assembly of industrial equipment, and demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with proficient communication and Microsoft Office skills.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical school degree
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- 5-7 years of related work experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with machining, welding, disassembly, and assembly of industrial equipment and components
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable in industrial safety standards and OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying degrees of difficulty
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Effective team member relation skills
- Use of handheld measuring tools and instructional math/measuring techniques
