Job Summary
Follow defined work instructions, process controls, and maintain a safe work environment while performing cleaning, testing, assembly, inspection, and related support tasks on precision parts and assemblies. Use metrology equipment including CMMs, optical microscopes, and other precision instruments to maintain maximum work center uptime by identifying and reporting off-nominal issues. Actively seek out and provide feedback on process improvements and efficiency opportunities to engineering and leadership. This role supports the manufacturing, development, and continuous improvement of micron and sub-micron-level tolerance parts and assemblies for the Ultra Precision Machining team. Applicants must be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift hours, overtime, and weekends as needed, including 10-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of professional work experience using precision tools (torque tools, precision metrology instruments, precision testing equipment)
- Must be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift hours, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Must be available to work 10-hour shifts
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods — 8 hours min
- Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
- Ability to work in an environment with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working under a quality system with defined requirements
- Experience with micron or sub-micron tolerance parts and how to handle/inspect them
- Experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing company, a precision manufacturing company, or high-volume manufacturing company
- Experience operating CMM or other metrology equipment
- Experience with data entry and work tracking systems
- Exposure to precision machining or diamond turning environments
