Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC machining centers (lathes/mills) and heat-treatment equipment to produce parts meeting specifications; monitor feeds/speeds, load parts with cranes, align fixtures/tools, and measure tolerances with micrometers/calipers to ensure conformance; perform routine machine maintenance and keep fluids topped up. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, adherence to dimensions and tolerances, and an emphasis on safety and quality in a forestry-industry equipment context.
Required Qualifications
- Experience setting up, editing programs and operating CNC machining systems such as mills and lathes, and/or heat treat and power skiving equipment
- Good working knowledge of tools, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and work with coworkers on projects
